"In your Community, For your Family"
As I am attempting to study the bible daily, I will be hosting bible study weekly online (Facebook for general public and Zoom for direct participants). The dates and times will be announced at a later date. I will be offering the study-fellowship under the name "Foundation of God" (or FOG). This not a church organization, this is merely a landmark name to help people find me. Click the Facebook link here for more updates: https://www.facebook.com/foundationofg
I am using the material below primarily for myself, and my kids, in accordance to being obedient to Gods law which states "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." ~ Prov 22:6... I think adults may also find it useful if they want to independently study along.
If you are looking to find a compatible church and are not quite sure what features to look for, check out my page www.j4bg.org/church. On this page I share features I think a church will have no matter what type of denominational type it is.
The bible is about Jesus. In every book in the bible, you should be able to find a path to Jesus. This is where we see the importance of "Jesus Name"... this is where we see clearly Jesus as the "Cornerstone".
The concept of Jesus Christ is not complicated, it is in the simplicity of the gospel that we understand who Jesus Christ is toward man.
God exists to man in patterns, we know this from a couple of scriptural passages:
As we are studying the foundational pieces of the bible, we can then uncover the "patterns" or "Principles" of God. This not only shows us a glimpse of how God interacts with man, but also reveals to us his expectations of how we maintain our relationship with him.
Lets first explore the first 5 books in the OT known as the "Torah"
Lets explore the first 4 books in the NT known as the "Synoptic Gospels"
Lets explore the book of Acts, which is considered the "anchor point" in the NT
Lets explore the books in the NT which were identified as "letters to the church"
What causes us to identify whether something is true or not? Where does any of our information come from? How do we know that information gathered is true and not corrupted, not tainted or skewed? How then do we know something or anything is true? - ... great questions!
In history, and even now the interpretation and translation of the bible has been corrupted and used corruptly... here the deal, God in his infinite wisdom knows that and prepared the believer IN THE SCRIPTURES!...
Here's what we know...
We know that all Scripture is God-breathed or inspired by the Spirit of God (2nd Tim 3:16-17) and “is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” and it “never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2nd Pet 1:21).
Locate Jesus in every book of the bible...
